Zola: “At the moment nothing has happened with Chelsea”
Gianfranco Zola could join Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea as the Blues’ new director of sport, according to reports in England and Italy.
However, the former Chelsea striker has confirmed a deal has not be completed at all and remained coy on questions over his possible role at the club.
Zola told SuperSport: “There is a lot of rumours about me at the moment and nothing has happened. And we’ll see what happens in the future.
“I don’t know. I was afraid you were going to ask me this. Really, I don’t know. But honestly, at the moment it is only talking. Nothing is decided.”
Then, speaking to Premium Sport in Italy, he added: “At the moment nothing has happened, we’ll see what happens in the future.”
“Chelsea has not found a new manager, it’s true and I hope they can do it as soon as possible”.
“Very often, when a manager must to be replaced or sporting director’s role is still vacant they [journalists] think through association of ideas”.
