Chelsea manager Antonio Conte refused to comment on Virgil van Dijk‘s future at Southampton, speaking after his side’s home win against the Saints at Stamford Bridge.
While Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino admitted he “can’t control the market”, the Italian boss when asked whether the Dutchman could join Chelsea in the January transfer marked or stay at Saint Mary’s responded: “I don’t like to talk about other players. It’s a lack of respect for my players and other team. He is a really good player, I wish him the best”.
Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool have been previously linked with a move for van Dijk, who asked to leave the club but was forced to stay at the club, despite several clubs were reportedly set to place audacious bids in order to secure the 26-year-old.
