Olivier Giroud was determinant in France’s 1-0 win over Peru last time out in Ekaterinburg. The Chelsea striker’s deflected shot found a quick rebound from Kylian Mbappé, who secured Les Bleus a narrow win to book a place into the last-16 of the World Cup.

Also Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante was involved in the game and impressed also for “powers of teleportation”, as The Independent wrote earlier last evening.

The Frenchman, who made 13 ball recoveries against Peru (Stats Zone), remains crucial in Didier Deschamps’ tactical system playing alongside with Juventus man Blaise Matuidi and Manchester United star Paul Pogba.
