Chelsea take on Huddersfield Town in their Premier League opening game of 2018/19 season.

PREVIEW – Big news as new goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga starts for the Blues with only two days of training under Maurizio Sarri‘s management since his arrival from Athletic Bilbao. Here are the official line-ups for the upcoming clash:

HUDDERSFIELD – Hamer, Hadergjonaj, Zanka, Schindler, Kongolo, Lowe, Hogg, Mooy, Billing, Pritchard, Mounie

CHELSEA – Kepa, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Luiz, Alonso, Jorginho, Kante, Barkley, Willian, Pedro, Morata

KEPA CALM – Arrizabalaga called into action in the 13th minute as the Spaniard clears a long pass for Steve Mounie. Match still goalless so far. A couple of minutes later Pritchard’s shot from 20 yards is straight at him.

GOAL! – Chelsea take the lead with N’Golo Kante in the 34th minuted after the Frenchman concerted into a goal a cross from Willian. Huddersfield almost find an early equalizer but the post saved Maurizio Sarri’s men.

GOAL! – Jorginho scores his first Chelsea goal as Blues double the score from the penalty spot. Approaching the halftime with a 0-2 score. The Brazilian born midfielder is the 8th player to score a penalty on his Premier League debut: the last one was Alexandre Pato.

CROSSBAR – Marcos Alonso goes close to scoring Chelsea’s third goal of the match with a volley-kick which hits the bar from a close range. Previously, Antonio Rudiger‘s header was well denied by Huddersfield goalkeeper Hamer.

Change for Chelsea with Ruben Loftus-Cheek coming off the bench to replace Ross Barkley. Positive and solid performance from the midfielder. Is David Luiz the first player booked as the Brazilian sees a yellow card for a foul on Depoitre in Huddersfield’s half. Huddersfield had replaced Pritchard with Depoitre (who scored twice against Chelsea last season) previously at the break. Also new signing Adama Diakhaby replaces Lowe in the 70th minute.

EDEN – With less than 15 minutes left to go on the clock is time for Eden Hazard to come off the bench and make his Chelsea debut in the Premier League 2018/19. The Belgian star replaces Willian.

GOAL! – Needless to say, the Blues score thanks to Eden Hazard. His fine pass is converted into a goal by Pedro, Chelsea are three goals in front at John Smith’s stadium.
FULL TIME – Chelsea get a comfortable win over Huddersfield Town in their Premier League opening game of 2018/19 season. Great start to the season for Maurizio Sarri as goals from Kante, Jorginho and Pedro secured a 0-3 win today. The Blues will face Arsenal at Stamford Bridge next Saturday.
