Chelsea suffered a disappointing defeat against Arsenal last time out as goals from Lacazette and Koscielny sealed a 2-0 win at Emirates Stadium. Spurs moved 4 points clear Blues, who are currently sitting 4th on the Premier League table.

Manager Maurizio Sarri opted to speak in Italian his press conference to properly send a message to the Chelsea squad.

Speaking after the game, defender Marcos Alonso told the club’s official website: “We made silly mistakes,

We provoked them to gain confidence and come to press us because we were making mistakes. In the second half we tried but it was too late and we couldn’t score”.

He added: “When you lose, you learn. We have to analyse the game and improve quickly because there is no time to think. We have to perform again in four days”.

“It was a good opportunity,’ acknowledged Alonso. ‘We wasted it and now we have to work even harder to stay in a Champions League position and win games. It has to motivate us”.
