Sarri calls for ‘more respect’ to former Chelsea manager José Mourinho

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has been speaking at a press conference earlier in the afternoon. The Italian, who warned his team ahead of tomorrow’s game against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge (kick-off: 12.30PM), was also asked if Red Devils’ unexpected slow start to the Premier League season was surprising as the Blues are currently leading the table 7 points above them.
Sarri told journalists: “Surprised a little bit but that can happen, we are talking about eight matches, they are doing well in the Champions League and they have the opportunity to improve in the Premier League, it’s only two months.Maybe player by player they have the best team in the Premier League.
“At the moment I think Manchester City are a better team but player by player they are very strong. I don’t know if they will play on us or try to play their football”.
About former Chelsea boss José Mourinho, who’s recently stormed out of a press conference after defeat against Tottenham Hotspur and accused a journalist of ‘bugging’ his phone earlier this month, Sarri said: “We are talking about a coach who has won everything. He has won everywhere, I think I have to respect him. But I think that you all have to respect him as well.
“I think he is a very good coach, a very good manager and one of the best in the world.”
