Chelsea are not giving up their aim to make Pep Guardiola their new manager, despite the Bayern Munich having received “several offers” from English clubs.
Blues owner Roman Abramovich reportedly sees Guardiola as his first choice man to lead the club, having failed to lure him to Stamford Bridge in 2013.
However, Chelsea will have to compete with Premier League rivals Manchester City, who privately believe that they have agreed a deal with the former Barcelona boss.
But, despite Guardiola having links with executives at the Etihad, Chelsea have told Guardiola they are prepared to hand him a bigger contract than anything City offer, as well as a huge budget to improve the squad.
Guardiola said: “I want to experience a new city and I want to work in England. I have several offers from England but I haven’t signed anything yet.”
However, the Spaniard’s wife is reportedly very keen on a move to the capital after her husband’s contract ends at the Allianz Arena.
