Real Madrid will have to break the world transfer record if they want to sign Chelsea winger Eden Hazard, according to reports this morning.
ChelseaNews24 reported recently that the Belgian was Real Madrid’s number one transfer target and will pursue their interest in him next summer. Rumours coinciding with Chelsea’s alarmingly poor form have been abound that Hazard is keen for the move to happen.
Should the La Liga giants make a move for the man Chelsea signed in 2012 from Lille then they will have to do so with a fee surpassing the £85 million they paid for Spurs’ Gareth Bale in 2013. Reports in England and Spain suggest that officials at the Santiago Bernabeu are already discussing how they will approach the deal that is sure to dominate the summer in the same way that the signings of Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo have done in recent years.
They are prepared for Chelsea’s demands and may well balk at it, especially as the PFA Player of the Year signed a five year contract last season leaving Chelsea in a very strong negotiating position.
