Chelsea forward Diego Costa suffered a broken nose in training recently but he still remains in contention to face Newcastle United.
The broken nose came from an aerial challenge with an academy player after a clash of heads. Diego Costa went straight off for treatment but is already looking to recover from the injury and doesn’t appear to be doubtful for the game today.
Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink spoke to Sky Sports about the incident.
“It was not a tough duel but he put the nose into the back of the head and he was very unlucky.
“He will return today because they put on a mask. So we are a Zorro team, with lots of masks. He will do some light training in the afternoon so we can see how he is with the mask. It was a small incident. I think he will be available.”
