Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has confirmed he spent a couple of days in Madrid with his family, turning down every possible speculation over his future at Stamford Bridge.

“Yes I spent some days in Madrid because my kids live there and I wanted to stay with them – Courtois, who is currently training with Belgium National team, told SkySports – I am very happy at Chelsea, now for me is important to finish well with the National team and then maybe Chelsea will speak with my agent”.

I am happy to stay here and there’s no doubt that I’ll stay. I have a contract which runs out in two years so if we can reach an agreement for a good deal we will be happy to sign it”,

About Romelu Lukaku, who is reportedly set for a comeback to Chelsea: “Romelu is a great player - Courtois said – If he decides to join Chelsea I will be happy to welcome him to the dressing room, but he’s an Everton player and we have to respect it”.
