Eden Hazard admitted that beating Manchester City and Arsenal to win the Premier League trophy this season was more then pleasant. The Belgian player confessed that this season in Chelsea was a real challenge for him.
The Belgium midfielder who scored 14 goals during the season and was called Player of the Year decided to share the joy of winning the title against very strong rivals.
Eden Hazard told Chelsea’s website :
“When you win this league it means so much because we all know how difficult it is.”
“It was the first time I’ve won it, I won the title in France but in England it’s so much tougher. In every game you have to fight until the end so it’s not the same feeling.”
The Blues ended up 8 points ahead of Manchester City and 12 points ahead of Arsenal. And Hazard did not hide his satisfaction with the fact.
“I respect every team but this season we were the best. When you go on holiday and you can say you are the champions it’s an enjoyable feeling.”
“It would have been better if I’d scored the penalty against Crystal Palace but that’s okay, a goal is a goal, it doesn’t matter how you score. When you get the trophy it’s very satisfying.”
