Eden Hazard claimed the Premier League title is Chelsea’s to lose after his penalty helped the Blues overcome Stoke.
Hazard signed from LOSC Lille in 2012 for £32 million, and has been a huge hit at Stamford Bridge since his arrival. The pacey and skilful winger scored the opening goal with a calmly converted penalty and then set up the second on Saturday as Chelsea maintained their lead at the top of the table, extending their lead at the top of the table to seven points in the process.
The Belgian will be a strong candidate for Chelsea’s player of the season and has 11 goals to his name this season already. Overall, in 152 appearances in a Chelsea shirt, the 24-year old Belgian has scored 47 goals.
Speaking after the 2-1 win over the Potters, the midfielder said that the team has the belief to finish off the season: “We are confident. We are first in the league and we take it game after game. We have the title in our hands.”
“We want to bring the trophy to Stamford Bridge.”
