Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink‘s words after the win at Bournemouth:
“We are very pleased with the performance, especially second half,” he said.
“The first half was a very open game. We played a side who are very good in the build-up of the game and from that they create good chances. We could have scored more goals and so could they and it was a very entertaining game.
“We made some little changes in the positions at half-time and from then on we could be in control and were very dominant in the second-half. It was good to see the players were enjoying it and looking for the attack and for the goal. It was nice to see some players who have been absent recently were scoring and enjoying goals.”
On Eden Hazard good performance he said:
“We worked for the last 10 days with him with the group, looking at his way of moving and it was good. He was light in his movement and so I said he starts this game and we’ll see how it goes. We talked about 45 minutes or a bit more but he was enjoying it so much he could play the whole game, and that was a sign of the good spirit of his and of the team.”
Also Cesc Fabregas had a stunning performance, giving 3 assists for the first 3 Chelsea goals:
“He was enjoying it very much and he is one of the few who has this vision. He knows he can execute what he is thinking. We practise on that and when he is on the ball we have running players to make his fast vision effective.”
Hiddink also spoke about next Chelsea game, a Monday night clash against Spurs on 2 May that can decide the title race:
“We have talked about it this week, that we don’t want this season to fade away. The players responded very well and this was an intense game.
“We go into next games with nothing effectively at stake for us but if we play like we did today then, although a win is not guaranteed, the attitude means the players will do everything until the end of the season. We play the next game to win and that is Tottenham.”
