Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta has put the pen to paper on a new and improved deal until June 2022, as the club’s official website confirmed earlier this morning.
After signing a new four-year deal to stay put at Stamford Bridge, the Spaniard told Blues’ official website: “I am really happy to extend my stay here at Chelsea”.
“Since I came, I felt the joy and responsibility to play for this club, these fans, and every time I go on the pitch I try do my best. Hopefully there is a lot to come and we can keep Chelsea where it belongs.”
Azpilicueta, who joined the club back in 2012 from Olympique Marseille, is now just two appearances away from reaching 300 games with Chelsea’s shirt.
