An entertaining first half with plenty of attacking at both ends, the teams go in even at the break with the score 1-1.

PSG begin the half with some good possession, knocking the ball around in their defensive half. Pushing Chelsea back onto the edge of their own 18-yard box at times putting the London club under early pressure.

Verratti has the first shot in the third minute, straight at Courtois forcing a good save from the Belgian. One minute later Lucas Moura strikes the ball but it fizzes past Chelsea’s right hand post.

In the opening 10 minutes, Chelsea struggle to get the ball out of their own half and put any pressure on the PSG back line.

In the 15th minute, a misjudged header from Maxwell gives Pedro the opportunity to get the ball into the PSG box but only to have the attack thwarted by David Luiz.

22 minutes into the game and Chelsea have their first decent spell of possession, knocking the ball around the pitch, edging their way closer to the PSG defence. The ball finds it way out to the left wing, the cross came into Diego Costa who heads the ball goal bound and forces a fantastic save from the PSG keeper who tips the ball onto the crossbar.

Half an hour in and the game evened out, Chelsea getting a lot more possession and getting forward more frequently.

A chance for Angel Di Maria after a counter attack from PSG but the Argentinian forward drags the ball wide of Courtois’ left post.

A 38th minute free kick for PSG ¬†on the edge of the box struck by Ibrahimovic gives PSG the lead. The Swedish international just blasts the ball and it’s deflected off the wall into the opposite corner that Coutois was heading.

Chelsea have a free kick of their own on the right side of the PSG area just 1 minute before half time. Willian stepped up to take it but can only hit the jumping wall and win a corner for his side.

Chelsea equalize in the 46th minute of the first half. Willian takes a corner and the ball bounces and falls at the feet of John Obi MIkel who instinctively strikes the ball into the PSG net.

The teams go in 1-1 at half time.
