According to The Telegraph, Eddie Howe, Mark Hughes and Claudio Ranieri are on Chelsea’s wish-list should they fail to sign a top-name manager for the next season.
The Blues main target at the moment are Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone and Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri but it will be hard to put them under contract with the potential failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Howe, Hughes and Ranieri have all impressed at Bournemouth, Stoke City and Leicester respectively and two of them have been already part of Chelsea history.
Hughes played for the Blues for three seasons in the 90s and won the FA Cup in 1997.
Ranieri, who is currently top the league with Leicester, managed Chelsea for four years at the start of the century, before Jose Mourinho took over in 2004.
Howe’s inexperience – this is his first season as a Premier League manager – will put him in the lowest position of the trio, but it is believed Chelsea are really impressed with his results with the Cherries.
