Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice in Real Madrid‘s win against Juventus tonight. The Portuguese gave Los Blancos the lead in the first half before Mario Mandzukic found the level with an acrobatic shot.
Then Zinedine Zidane‘s men dominated the second period in Cardiff, with goals from Casemiro, Ronaldo and Asensio. Former Chelsea winger Juan Cuadrado was sent off in the second half due to a late challenge on Sergio Ramos.
Real Madrid became the first team to defend the Champions League title as they won also last year against Atletico Madrid in Milan.
Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri said after the game: “In the 1st half we played beautifully; in the 2nd, Real Madrid pressed the accelerator and we weren’t able to respond”
“After conceding the 2nd goal we should have stayed in the game. We created a couple of chances but we weren’t able to take them.”
