Rooney: “We will keep fighting”

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has said that his side need to take chances after a 0-0 draw with Chelsea.

The home side dominated but couldn’t find a winner, which meant they are now without a win in eight games.

Speaking to BT Sport, Rooney said that the result was disappointing:

We created a lot of chances but didn’t manage to take one. The crowd were excellent today and you could see how much it meant to the players.

“It’s a disappointing result because we dominated the game but that is football.

Rooney, who was lucky to escape a red card after a high challenge on Chelsea midfielder Oscar, has said however that the team will continue to fight despite their dip in form:

“A lot of people say a lot of different things. We would be letting ourselves down if we didn’t go out on the pitch and give our all.

“We will keep fighting and we will come back.”
