Chelsea captain John Terry confessed that Jose Mourinho took the correct decision to sell Juan Mata and David Luiz.
The Portuguese boss sold Mata to Manchester United for £30m, whilst Brazilian defender Luiz was sold to Paris Saint Germain for £50m. Thanks to the FPF new regulations, this money turned out to be pivotal to sign players such as Costa, Fabregas and Matic.
However, both former Chelsea stars impressed with their new clubs – not at the World Cup… – , with Luiz in particular scoring the goal which brought the clash vs PSG at the Bridge to extra-time.
Nevertheless, Terry believes Mourinho took the correct decision to sell the duo.
He revealed the Sun: “You look at some of the world-class players we’ve had, Juan Mata, David Luiz, players like that who’ve left the club.”
“He’s seen something — I don’t know what — to let those big players go. He also knows when players take their foot off the gas.”
