Thierry Henry: “The team comes first for Conte”

Former Arsenal star Thierry Henry has told Sky Sports News HQ that Antonio Conte will be a huge success at Stamford Bridge. However, he has warned the players they must work hard for him or they won’t get to play.

Henry played alongside Conte for a brief period at Juventus before the Frenchman made the switch to the Premier League and Arsenal.

Conte is gearing his side up for his first season in the English top tier and Henry insists that he will give the players a lot if they work hard for him.

“All I can say is, they better be ready.

“He doesn’t mess around. If you don’t run – and that’s the strict minimum that you need to do for him – if you don’t run up and down and help each other, you’re not going to play. No matter if you have a big name or not. The team comes first.

“I think he can be a successful manager at Chelsea because the fans will embrace him.

“If you love to play for him, he will give you a lot. All of his teams have a unity factor that you could see.”
