With next to nothing to play for in the Premier League this season, will Guus Hiddink rest some of his key players with the huge Champions League clash at the Parc des Princes on the horizon.
Chelsea take on the French champions Paris Saint Germain on Tuesday evening. Making that and the following game against Manchester City in the FA Cup, the two biggest games of the season. The Blues miserable form in the Premier League means they’re not contesting for the title or even a top four place.
With this in mind interim boss Hiddink will be looking to prioritise the FA Cup in order for the team to win some silverware, as he did in his previous tenure in 2009.
And to win the Champions League is the only route in to next seasons competition. But first is the huge task of taking on PSG away from home just three days after their game against Newcastle on Saturday night.
Players such as Diego Costa, Fabregas, Azpilicueta and player of the season Willian will be vital if Chelsea are going to take a positive result away from France. But will Hiddink take this into consideration or will he look to keep momentum going and maintain his unbeaten record?
