Chelsea are preparing a bid for Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor, according to recent reports.
The forward is a target for the Blues who are looking to replace their veteran striker Didier Drogba in the summer.
Jose Mourinho has already worked with Adebayor during his spell at Real Madrid. The Togo forward has built a reputation with many doubts about his strength at 31 years old, yet the Premier League leaders are ready to risk it if Drogba retires.
The deal could be enhance by the fact that London rivals Tottenham have no problem in letting Adebayor leave the club: currently he receives a wage of £100,000-a-week, something that Spurs find unnecessary and willing to get rid of: that’s why the money they may ask is considerably small.
The question is whether Adebayor is at Chelsea’s level or not.
