Alderweireld and Rose could join Chelsea, Barcelona eye Willian

Sport journalists and The Transfer Window podcast guests Duncan Castles and Ian McGarry spoke about both Chelsea targets Danny Rose and Toby Alderweireld, with a theory regarding Barcelona’s interest in Willian.

“Toby Alderweireld is a target for Chelsea and has had enquiries from other clubs in the Premier League, – Castles said – He’s also an enquiry from Inter Milan and he’s dissatisfied with his contract situation at the club”.

“He feels he’s significantly underpaid at £49,000-a-week and thinks he can get substantially more elsewhere from another club”.

Then, when quizzed about Danny Rose, McGarry added: “Chelsea could still get Danny Rose,”

“As we know Daniel Levy keeps his cards very close to his chest and will only sell at the last minute to get the premium amount of money and he will do so again. I suspect Danny Rose might get his way and leave Tottenham.”

Willian and Philippe Coutinho share the same agent, this is the reason why Barcelona could consider a late move for the Chelsea star in case of failure to land the Liverpool attacking-midfielder.

“Willian to Barcelona does intrigue me, – Castles said – Willian is represented by the same agent as Philippe Coutinho, Kia Joorabchian. It would make sense to me – although I don’t have any solid information on this – that the agent could have proposed Willian as an alternative if they can’t get a deal through with Liverpool”.“If Chelsea were to sell Willian they would want to sell him outside of England, so it ticks a box there. They could expect to make a huge sum, certainly more than from selling to Manchester United. And Chelsea are a selling club. They cash-in on their better players when a good offer comes in.”
