Bayern Munich are interested in Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, according to reports in the Daily Mail.
The Serbian has been a stalwart of the Chelsea side since his move from Lokomotiv Moscow in 2008 for £10.5 million.
He has won practically every honour possible, including the Champions League in 2012. The 31-year old also scored the winning header in the Final of the 2013 Europa League.
Ivanovic has one year left on his current deal. He has been offered a new 12-month contract, which keeps in line with the Blues’ policy of only offering one year contracts to players over 30.
But, according to reports in the Daily Star, Chelsea are willing to bend this policy by offering Ivanovic a three year deal worth £90,000 a week.
Ivanovic, who has made 312 appearances for the London side, is yet to sign any new deal. This has in turn encouraged Bundesliga side Bayern to join Paris Saint Germain in keeping tabs on developments.
Despite the interest, though, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is apparently unwilling to sell Ivanovic, who has been a regular starter this season. Mourinho doesn’t want the Serbian to leave the club and has described Ivanovic as one of the club’s best ever signings.
