Recent reports reveal that Chelsea have shown interest in Napoli left back Faouzi Ghoulam.
It is suspected that with current Chelsea player Felipe Luis wanting a return to Atletico Madrid, José Mourinho has sought after a replacement in Ghoulam.
Chelsea may want to use Felipe Luis as a means to sweeten any deal with Atletico, but will be sure to leave money aside for the potential bid for Ghoulam, who is valued at around £10.8million.
Since Chelsea are yet to unveil any done deals, there is still a realistic chance that Ghoulam was the defender Mourinho was referring to when he stated he was in need of one earlier this month.
Ghoulam had already played in Ligue 1 before moving to Napoli Serie A of Napoli, where he was selected for this season’s Europa League Squad of the Season. In the push for more silverware, it appears Chelsea could benefit from a 24-year old with such experience.
