Sky Sport Italia reports that Chelsea are interested in Roma’s defender Alessio Romagnoli.
The Italian player can be included in the Salah’s deal in what we can call a swap: in fact, Roma sport director Walter Sabatini was in London in the past days to negotiate for the Egyptian player, who refused earlier this month another season on loan at Fiorentina, where he made an impact in the last months of the past campaign.
Roma and Inter are really interested in the striker that Chelsea signed from Basel in January 2014, but Roma seem in a better position now, having also in their squad Romagnoli, who can be the defender that José Mourinho is looking for to build the future Chelsea defence with Cahill and Zouma.
The Blues boss admitted the west London club placed a bid for Everton‘s John Stones, but the Toffees don’t seem very keen to sell the defender and manager Roberto Martinez admitted he will be very difficult they will let him go. It can be a way to make Chelsea understand to raise the bid, so we are going to wait to see how the situation develops.
Meanwhile, it seems that Roma made a £15 + bonus offer for Salah: the Giallorossi rejected a £20m offer from AC Milan for Romagnoli, but since Chelsea are very interested in the defender – that in Italy many people believe can be the new Alessandro Nesta- it’s possible that the negotiation will go on and the Blues can sign Romagnoli paying him with Salah and some money.
There is still more than one month of transfer market, so everything can happen.
