Chelsea have been linked with Newcastle defender Daryl Janmaat, in a report by the Newcastle Chronicle.
The 26-year old has made almost 50 appearances in all competitions for the Toon since moving to St. James’ Park in the summer of last year from Dutch side Feyenoord.
However, the Blues are set to face competition for the Dutchman, from Premier League rivals Tottenham and Italian side Juventus.
It is reported Janmaat wants to play Champions League football, despite becoming a fan favourite at Newcastle.
According to the report, Newcastle are unwilling to sell Janmaat as he is seen as someone who could become a future captain. However, with Chelsea also reportedly interested in midfielder Moussa Sissoko, the struggling Magpies may not have a choice.
