Chelsea’s interest to sign Brazilian defender Marquinhos, who can play both as centre-back or a full-back, has been clear in the last transfer windows, with the Blues trying to get him especially in the last summer, when former manager José Mourinho was looking for a top class defender and chased him, John Stones and Raphael Varane until the last day of the transfer market.
Now Marquinhos is coming to Stamford Bridge as a rival to play the Champions League last 16 game with his current side, PSG, but probably this stadium can be his new home soon, since he didn’t hide his interest to come to play in England:
“The Premier League is the number one best league in the world,” Marquinhos told Squawka.
“It’s a very competitive football. There are not weak teams at all.”
“I just like the league itself but I haven’t got an English side that I follow closely,” he admitted.
“It’d be fantastic to have this opportunity [to play in England] one day, but now I’m focused on PSG.”
