Chelsea target Jose Gaya will decide where he will play next season in the next few days, with reports that he is set to reject the opportunity to play in England.
Valencia left-back Goya has been the subject of transfer speculation all season with a number of Premier League clubs interested in acquiring his services, Chelsea being the most prominent of which. Real Madrid have also expressed an interest and Gaya is believed to have a buy-out clause of £13 million.
A move to either London or Madrid at the end of the season appeared a near certainty just weeks ago but reports in both Spain and England claim the 19-year-old will turn down all moves and sign a new contract at the Mestalla.
The new contract will considerably increase Gaya’s wages and raise his buy-out clause to roughly £30 million, according to Spanish football website Superdeporte.
Chelsea, on the verge of winning the Premiership title, have been linked with several players this summer will undoubtedly strengthen their squad, regardless of Gaya’s decision.
