Chelsea can enter the battle to sign Borussia Dortmund and Germany defender Matts Hummels next summer.
The central defender has been linked with Manchester United for more than one year and everybody knows Louis Van Gaal has got a soft spot for him and he tried to sign him last summer but also in the recent January window and next summer can be the right moment for Hummels to leave Dortmund.
The defender himself recently revealed that he had held talks with Dortmund hierarchy to discuss his future with him admitting he was open to playing abroad.
Hummels is likely to cost around £37m, not a cheap price for a defender but both Chelsea and United could afford this expense to revamp their defences.
The two clubs will have also to watch out from Arsenal, very keen on Hummels too: it will be a hot summer in the Dortmund- England route.
