Chelsea loanee Andreas Christensen is impressing at Borussia Monchengladbach and despite the Bundesliga side is aiming to sign the Danish defender on a permanent deal, the Blues are keen to bring him back to Stamford Bridge.
But Speaking to Danish newspaper BT the centre-back’s father Sten confirmed his son will probably join the London side on a permanent basis next summer:
“Chelsea would like Andreas back, and that they have wanted that for a long time. But it was an unbreakable two-year lease, so there was nothing to do. They have worked to get him back before the time, but Gladbach would not let him.Instead, they’d like to buy Andreas.
“As it is right now, he’s at Chelsea again this summer. It is important for Andreas that he plays. He will not return to Chelsea and sit on the bench. It is the transfer window which determines how Andreas’ situation becomes in the summer. If Chelsea buy ten central defenders, it may well be that we need to do something else.”
