Journalist Ian McGarry told the DailyStar Juventus are asking a fee in the region of £73m for wing-back Alex Sandro, but Chelsea are not expected to be set for a massive signing.
“Chelsea’s pursuit of Alex Sandro has been long and tiring – he said – First of all they wanted Bonucci, who ended up at Milan”.
“Juventus have been very resistant and what I’ve been told is Juventus would only consider any transfer of Alex Sandro starting at a price of £73m”.
Then he added: “Chelsea will not pay that amount of money for Alex Sandro, I’m sure of that. This is a red herring and going nowhere unless Juventus significantly reduce their asking price. Having lost Bonucci, they don’t want to lose another cornerstone of the team.”
