Chelsea are closing in on the signing of MLS star Matt Miazga.
Miazga, 20, who currently plays for MLS side New York Red Bulls, is due to fly to London before Saturday in order to complete his £3.5 million move to the Blues.
The 6ft 4in centre back is regarded as a promising young talent, having already made his debut for the U.S national team under former German international Jurgen Klinsmann.
This will come as some concern to Chelsea’s current centre back Gary Cahill, whose already finding it difficult to break into the first team under Guus Hiddink. With Chelsea captain John Terry and promising young Frenchman Kurt Zouma ahead of him in the pecking order.
