Norwich City are reportedly planning an attempt to sign Chelsea midfielder Patrick Bamford, despite the failure of his last loan spell.
The 22-year old didn’t start or score in the league during his loan spell at Crystal Palace, which Bamford cut short after just six months after a “terrible” period at Selhurst Park.
He did however have a very successful loan spell at Championship promotion contenders Middlesbrough last season, where he was part of the team that lost in the Play-Off Final, which ironically was a 2-0 defeat against Norwich.
The Canaries, who have been the busiest club in the Premier League in this January transfer window having made five signings, are keen to bring in the youngster, who had originally said that he wanted to fight for a place at Stamford Bridge.
Bamford is however said to be keen on a loan move, although Norwich want a permanent deal.
As a compromise, Norwich will put a buy-back clause in Bamford’s contract, should the deal go through.
