According to Italian TV Mediaset Premium Sport Chelsea have got a “gentlemen agreement” to sign Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly.
The defender was approched by the Blues also last summer but the Italian side rejected their offers.
But now it seems Antonio Conte has the chance to to bring a player for whom he’s always got lots of respect to Stamford Bridge.
Koulibaly’s agent told Mondo Napoli today:
“Koulibaly? The transfer market is long as it will be open until August 31, something might happen before then.
“Chelsea? They are a world class team that many players would like to join but I don’t want to talk about this now.”
Napoli should received a £ 52m ( € 60m) offer from the Blues soon, and this time won’t be easy to reject it.
Conte is keen also on another Azzurri star, Lorenzo Insigne, who he wants to replace and challege Eden Hazard but the supposed £ 45m offer for him is considered low and Chelsea will have to rise it if they want to sign one of the best Italian players of the moment.
