Chelsea manager Antonio Conte believes Cesc Fabregas has to be only focused on his work with the team, especially following the great performance he showed off in the last EFL Cup extra-time win against Leicester.

“Cesc? it will be a special game for him – Conte claimed – the most important thing for Cesc is that for now he is Chelsea’s player.”

“He is playing very well and I am seeing him very focused and concentrated during the training sessions. He played a good game in the cup.”

“Tomorrow he will start if I decide it, I have another day to decide make my decision”.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte took a view on next clash against Arsenal.

The Blues are set to face the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday and the manager is confident that his squad can overpass the last disappointing dome defeat to Liverpool.

When asked about the opponent, Conte said: “I am sure this is a big game between two big rivals, it’s important to play a good game after a defeat against Liverpool”.

“We are set to face a good team, good rivals. I am sure that Arsenal will fight until the end to win the title, they have young players, great players with good physical potential, they show good football and good organization”.

The manager confirmed he’s very happy with the level the team reached since his arrival this summer: “I am sure we are working to reach a level always high and I see that this team can improve a lot. When you start a work in a team and you bring a new idea of football is normal to need time, but we trust in our work and we all know we can improve a lot”.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte gave an injury update ahead of the clash against Arsenal.

The Blues are set to face the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday and the manager is confident that his squad can overpass the last disappointing home defeat to Liverpool.

When asked if captain John Terry is fully fit for the game or if was anybody else missing Arsenal clash, Conte said: “John Terry did the best to recover but he didn’t recover for the game against Arsenal, is still working a lot but needs time.”

“I don’t know when he will be fit, in this case is important both what the player feels and the pain that he feels”.

It is understood Terry wants to play every gamem but this won’t be a problem for the Italian manager, as he confirmed: “It’s normality, in the team we have 3 central defenders so I have to make a choice, but I think is normal when you are a team like Chelsea. I don’t see any problem”.

Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are lining-up a January move to sign Roma defender Antonio Rudiger, according to SportMediaset.

The 23-year-old is still recovering from an injury after joining the Giallorossi from Stuttgart in 2015.

Chelsea have already signed David Luiz and Marcos Alonso in that position but manager Antonio Conte is said to be confident of landing another centre-back to Stamford Bridge when the transfer market window reopens in January, however Serie A giants are reportedly asking €25.8m for the German international.

Former Manchester United and Southampton defender Danny Higginbotham, speaking about next Chelsea game against Arsenal, told The Sun that “Diego Costa wants and needs to live on the edge”.

“It’s how he gets the best out of himself – Higginbotham claimed – You’d want the Chelsea star in your team, 100 per cent.”

“But when you play against him one of two things happen — he either winds up the opposition centre-back or winds himself up. If Costa can’t wind you up, he turns it on himself. His mind goes off the game.”

“So the first thing I’d say to Arsenal defenders Shkodran Mustafi and Laurent Koscielny is whenever you are up against Costa don’t let him touch you — don’t let him feel you.”

The Spaniard scored in the 0-1 away win against Arsenal last season and is expected to feature in the Blues’ starting XI at the Emirates on Saturday.

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas impressed in the last comeback win against Leicester and this is the reason why SkySports pundit Paul Merson believes the Spaniard ‘must start’ against his former side Arsenal.

Merson declared: “This is a huge match, especially with Man City playing at 3pm, because whoever slips up will probably be even further behind the current league leaders”.

“I give the slight advantage to Arsenal because they’re at home but it is one of those situations whereby, come 7pm on Saturday night, we will know what kind of season they will have.”

“They are flat-track bullies but don’t really turn it on against the big teams and could be eight points off the top if they lose and City win. Do you see City losing three games without Arsenal also slipping up?

The 29-year-old made his debut in the Blues starting XI on Tuesday, when he scored a brace in the extra-time.

“For me, Cesc Fabregas has to play for Chelsea – Merson stated – N’Golo Kante will cover every blade of grass but you need someone to get on the ball and pass it. Fabregas is among the best in the Premier League in possession.”

Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas hopes to face his former club Arsenal on Saturday, having found it difficult to impress new boss Antonio Conte, the Spaniard has reaffirmed his commitment to the Stamford Bridge club. Still yet to start a single game in the Premier League this season, Fabregas doesn’t see his future away from the club. Having been linked with several clubs in the summer, the Blues midfielder have thus far come out to rubbish all speculations.

“I have never though of leaving Chelsea. Madrid? There might have been calls, there might not have, but I am not thinking of leaving – he declared to Cadena COPE The rumours over whether I am going or offering myself out tire me. Let them come out every [time]… apparently I want to go to 20 different teams.

“I am just one player. I will keep competing here. If I knew I wasn’t good enough to play in this team, I would have moved away but I am very happy here. Not playing hurts but I know I am good enough for this team and I will give everything to play”.

“It is tough being on the bench; I have never spent so much time there,” he said.

“Every time I have entered [the pitch], I have felt really good. That leaves me happy after the games. I hope I can be with the team on Saturday [against Arsenal]. It is a very special game against Arsenal. I spent many years there. It is a special feeling every time I amthere. I don’t know if I’ll play; the manager waits until right before the game.”

Despite having featured so little under Conte, Fabregas says that he enjoys a warm relationship with the former Juventus and Italy head coach.

“I have spoken with Conte; he is a coach who has a very particular playing philosophy – he explained – We like him a lot. He is a brilliant coach and playing ornot does not change that. He is a tough man and tells you things straight. We are very happy with him.”

Everton are keen to offer a new contrat to their star Romelu Lukaku: British press reports that the Toffees are starting talks with their forward and his agent, Mino Raiola.

Chelsea tried to sign him last summer, placing a stunning € 75m ( £ 62m) fee but the Liverpool side rejected it, and now the Belgian striker is repaying them with an impressive start of the season, with 4 goals in 4 appearances in the Premier League. That’s why they want to give him a deal extension: the current one will expire in 2019.

Chelsea are still reportedly confident they can lure Lukaku back in a near future, anyway it will be more difficult to seal his signature should he sign a new contract.
