Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri spoke ahead of tonight’s Europa League second-leg of semi-final against Eintracht Frankfurt at Stamford Bridge.

The Italian boss said: “I am delighted at achieving the club’s target of making the top four. We want to reach the Europa League final and win it because we deserve a trophy this season”.

“It’s not easy because we have to play a dangerous team as we saw in the first leg. They’re dynamic and aggressive and when they can find spaces, it’s a dangerous match. In a semi-final you have to play against a strong team with very strong players. It’s difficult to be the favourite in a semi-final.”

Unlucky Cardiff City suffered a controversial defeat against Chelsea as Blues completed a massive comeback in stoppage time. Victor Camarasa’s opener was canceled out by goals from Cesar Azpilicueta and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The Spaniard looked to be offside, while the second-half substitute put the ball past Etheridge with a fine header from Willian’s cross in the 1st minute of extra-time.

Maurizio Sarri‘s men are still alive in the race for a top-four finish, despite struggling to get a win in South Wales today. Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock said after the game: “I thought we could have had two penalties today. I look at the possible red card – I thought Ken [Zohore] would have got to the ball before the ‘keeper. You could go on and on, but decisions have just not gone our way”.

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud was the man who put France up again in their UEFA Nations League win against the Dutch in Paris last night.

The forward is now the third all-time goalscorer of the Bleus, having surpassed also Zinedine Zidane with 32 goals.

Also Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante played the whole game in Didier Deschamps’ team.

If Andreas Christensen was an unused sub in Denmark win over Wales, Ethan Ampadu was directly involved in the game. The 17-year-old, who played in midfield, also caused a penalty due to an alleged handball. A brace from Spurs’ starlet Christian Eriksen means that Denmark are leading the table, level on points with the Welsh.

Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger came off the bench at half-time (replacing Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng) as Germany came from behind to get a 2-1 victory against Peru.
