Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has today extended his stay at Stamford Bridge, as the club’s official website confirmed earlier this morning.

The Frenchman has put  the pen to paper on a new and improved five-year deal with the Blues.

After joining from Leciester City back in the summer of 2016, Kante has been crucial in Antonio Conte‘s line-up as well as an ever-present midfielder in Chelsea unbeaten start to the current Premier League campaign under Maurizio Sarri‘s management.

Kante told Chelsea’s official website: “I’m happy to extend my time with Chelsea, it has been two beautiful years and I wish for more to come. Since I came, I completely improved as a player, challenged myself and got some awards I never thought about. I like the city, I like the club and I am happy to be here for more time”.

Club director Marina Granovskaia added: “We are delighted N’Golo has signed a new contract and sees his long-term future with Chelsea. When he arrived, we knew we had signed a special player but he has astounded everybody with his tireless and unselfish displays.

“Off the pitch, he remains a dedicated professional and a humble human being despite the fact he is a world champion and a two-time Premier League winner. We now look forward to five more years with N’Golo at the heart of the Chelsea midfield”.

Chelsea are really concerned for N’Golo Kantè fitness after the French midfielder picked up a hamstring injury while away on international duty with France.

Kante was forced off in the 34th minute of France’s victory over Bulgaria on Saturday night and has now been assessed by Blues’ medical department.

With early predictions putting his absence at two to three weeks, Kante will surely miss next Saturday’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.

The Blues are yet to confirm his exact injury or put an official timescale on how long he will miss.

However, Kante’s injury is thought to be worse than that of team-mate Alvaro Morata, who limped off during Manchester City game a couple of weeks ago but is working to try to come back in the Champions League clash against AS Roma next week.

The fear of Chelsea is that Kante, a key-man for Conte’s team, could miss all the six matches scheduled for October and could come back only in November, on time for Manchester United on the 5th or after another international break due for mid-month.

Alvaro Morata limped off the pitch after 35 minutes today with what seemed to be a hamstring injury, leaving Chelsea fans concerned.

The Spanish striker scored 6 Premier League goals and one in Champions League so far in this season, and his absence would be a huge blow for the team.

But after the game Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wanted to calm all the ones concerned for Morata’s conditions, claiming the injury seems not so serious:

“I hope it is not a serious injury for Morata,” the Italian manager said after the match.

“It is his hamstring but we don’t know if it is a serious problem.

“When you lose this type of player it is not simple,” Conte continued.

“When you play three massive games in only seven games you must consider this, it can happen a muscular problem, but I do not think it is serious.

“Alvaro stopped before it became a serious injury.”

According to Chelsea legend Frank Lampard to extend Antonio Conte‘s deal this summer will be the best signing for the Blues in this transfer window.

Speaking to ESPN, Super Frank said:

“Antonio would be their most important signing. For me, he was their man of the season. You talk about player of the year, I’m all for giving the players credit but because it was such a dramatic uplift from the year before I think you have to give him huge credit.

“You saw the system change and how he made them play in that formation, it worked well. I think he’s a huge signing for them. I have no doubts, I don’t know but I’m pretty confident he’ll be there and they’ll bring in players to play in the system he wants to play.’’

One of Chelsea most promising talents, Dominic Solanke, is now set to join Liverpool, as Sky Sports UK revealed today.

Solanke’s Blues contract expires this summer but the club will still be due compensation for the 19-year-old, expected to be around £3m and decided by tribunal.

That a tribunal is involved means Chelsea offered Solanke an extension to the three-year deal he signed in September 2014 – his first professional contract – but the youngster turned it down.

Solanke hasn’t made a single appearance in the first team in this title winning campaign and only played five games in Chelsea U23 team, scoring 2 goals.

The English forward returned last summer after a season-long-loan to Vitesse Arnhem, where he scored 7 goals in 25 appearances.

Thibaut Courtois claimed he has no intention to leave Chelsea: the Belgian goalkeeper was often linked to Real Madrid but speaking to Spanish radio station Cadena Ser he stated he wants to stay at Stamford Bridge:

“I have two more years of contract left,” Courtois said.

“In London everything is going well for me and I am happy. At the moment we have not talked about a renewal. Now we are focused on winning the league, even though we have a ten-point advantage.

“Both the club and the coach want to keep calm now and not think about renewals.”

His current deal runs out in 2019 and he admits he can’t see himself moving to Spain anytime soon.

“We will see at the end of the season whether they offer me something, but at the moment there is no offer.

“Would I like to be offered a new deal? Sure.”

Sky Sports transfer market expert Aidan Magee insists that Diego Costa wants a Chelsea exit, but the club is trying to convince to stay at least until the summer.

According to the Sky Sports journalist sources the Spaniard is demanding a wage rise to the club to accept an extension, using the offers he recently received from China to obtain it:

“Diego Costa has returned to training,” Magee said while speaking on the Transfer Centre.

“We’re told talks with Antonio Conte were amicable.

“Our information is Costa would like to extend his Chelsea contract but only if his wages are doubled to £300,000-a-week.”
