CHELSEA TITLE CELEBRATION

Chelsea captain John Terry took to Instagram to show him celebrating his title success with One Direction member Niall Horan, as him and other Chelsea players took to social media to share pictures of their individual celebrations of Chelsea’s title success.

The picture also showed Terry with teammates Didier Drogba and Gary Cahill celebrating with the Irish singer.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho gave his players two days off after the London side clinched the title with a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. Eden Hazard’s goal was enough to seal the win and the Premier League trophy, as he tucked away the rebound after his penalty was saved to take Chelsea to 83 points.

Of all Chelsea players, Terry has every right to celebrate – he has played every minute of every game for the Blues this season. 284C9A6000000578-3067269-John_Terry_centre_celebrated_with_Didier_Drogba_third_right_Gary-a-75_1430746803810

Chelsea midfielder Willian also took to Instagram, showing him celebrating the team’s success with his teammates whilst providing a lengthy description of what it meant to win his first Premier League trophy.

Willian said: “I always dreamed of playing in the Premier League, which is considered the toughest and strongest championship in the world.

“For many years I watched and admired English football. My turn would come, I knew. When I heard the proposal of Chelsea, I didn’t think twice. I knew that in this great club I would fight for titles, I would always be on the top.

Now I can celebrate my first Premier League title. Indescribable feeling! Many thanks to the Chelsea fans, who have always been fantastic with me. The applause for me today (Sunday) will be always in my best memories.

“Many thanks to all the club’s board, coaching staff, all employees. Many thanks to my teammates, who have always maintained a great atmosphere in the team. Many thanks to my family, my friends and my fans for their support ever. Thank you, my God!! Come on Chelsea!!! #Champions #Premier League #Chelsea #CFC”

With Mourinho giving his players a well earned break, Willian took advantage, giving his followers a taste of sunny Dubai as the Brazilian jetted off to relax after a brilliant season in the Chelsea midfield.

Jose Mourinho looked quite satisfied after the very important victory over Manchester United this evening at Stamford Bridge: now Chelsea are 10 points clear of Arsenal -that are second in the table and today were playing the FA Cup semifinal against Reading, so they got one game in hand too- and next weekend they will face the Gunners at the Emirates, another crucial game on the route to the title.

But today’s win was another step toward it, and the players seemed very happy after the referee blew the final whistle, celebrating in the end of the pitch, so Mourinho was immediately asked about this in his post-match press conference, and he explained:

The celebrations were because we beat one of the biggest teams in the world: I understand that. The players gave everything to win the game and they felt the result of the work they’d done all week to prepare

The team were fantastic. I’m the one that knows how fantastic they were because the game was exactly what we wanted. When you manage to play the game you want to play, it’s fantastic. The players were magnificent, on top of that Eden had that magic the top players have, especially in big matches

Obviously he was fundamental  for us but Cahill made an amazing block on Falcao, John Terry was amazing, the keeper was there for us all the time, Azpilicueta was for me the best player on the pitch and Ivanovic was fantastic. Matic worked like an animal, Zouma put Fellaini out of the game, our number 11 [Drogba] was another animal, fighting against two kids young enough to be his sons. Hazard was what you know, Oscar worked fantastically well, Ramires came in and gave us what we needed, Mikel came in for two minutes and held the ball”

Mourinho revealed Willian had been ill for the two days leading up to the game

Willian coming on was a bonus I wanted to give him, he’s been in bed for two days and today he came straight from his house, making himself available to give us some help, he was fantastic

Then Mourinho spoke about the next two games, that Chelsea will play away from Stamford Bridge ( Arsenal and Leicester)

It’s three more points. Obviously every point we get now, every victory we get, is one step in the title direction

We need to win matches. What we can say is that we play for nine points at home, we can be champions just from the matches we play at home. But obviously if we can get points away it’s better’.

EDEN HAZARD
Eden Hazard won the Player of the Year Award last season © Francesca Ceciarini

Courtois 7– Had surprisingly few saves to make, even though Man Utd had the ball for long periods of the game. He was convincing and solid when he needed to be.

Azpilicueta 7 – Did very well to limit the threat from his side, especially in the second half.

Terry 7.5- A brilliant captain’s performance, kept the rest of the team calm when it was under pressure and made a few crucial blocks.

Cahill 7– A much improved performance, made one critical block from Facao when a goal appeared certain.

Ivanovic 6.5– Was beaten a couple of time by Shaw in the second half.

Zouma 8- Very good, worked extremely hard from the first minute to the last and gave nothing away as the game went on. Only beaten to Man of the Match by Hazard.

Matic 7- Started slowly but improved as the game went on.

Fabregas 7– Struggled to find space in the first half but showed considerable creativity when he got the chance. Took part in the goal by passing to Oscar.

Oscar 7– Struggled the same as the rest early on but got better. Set up the goal with a brilliant back heel.

Hazard 8.5- MOTM – By far the most dangerous player on the pitch and scored a superb goal. He must surely win both national player of the year awards. Man of the Match, again.

Drogba 7- Worked hard but is looking his age.

Substitutes:

Ramires 7– Made the defence and midfield tighter when he came on midway through the second half for Oscar.

Mikel N/A- Brought on in stoppage time.

Willian N/A- Same as Mikel, barely touched the ball.

Manager:

Jose Mourinho 8- There was much speculation that he would set up far too conservatively with Chelsea so close to winning the league. He may well have done that as Man Utd dominated the ball to begin with, but in the end, as he mostly is, he ended up being right all along. The team was well prepared to not have the ball and took the initiative when they needed to.

Gary Cahill shared his feelings and thoughts about the title race and on next derby with QPR with Chelsea official website.

The defender is optimistic about the chances of Chelsea to be champions:

“We have worked so hard this season to get where we are and put ourselves in the position we are in”

“It’s pleasing we are in this position but there is still an element of pressure to finish the job. We want to go all the way”

About QPR clash he stated:

“We will have had a week to prepare, which is rare for us, and we’re looking forward to the game after a good performance [against Stoke]”

“They’re fighting for their lives to stay in the league and that’s dangerous for us because they will do anything to win the match. We’re away and the atmosphere will be good”

“We need to go there fully focused and with the same attitude we had against Stoke. Hopefully that will be good enough to get a win”.

Manchester United defender Phil Jones has revealed his enjoyment in playing alongside Chelsea’s Gary Cahill for England.

The two started together against Lithuania on Friday night, a game the side went on to win 4-0 on route to qualifying for Euro 2016.

The pair have started together four times now, with Jones being picked ahead of Phil Jagielka for this fixture.

Both Cahill and Jones have endured up and down seasons as they have come under criticism, but Jones was full of praise for his England counter-part after the game.

The 23-year-old told the the Mirror: “I enjoy playing with him. You see him at Chelsea, he’s a top-class centre-half. He’s strong, he reads the game well, and it’s nice to play alongside him.”

The victory made it five wins out of five in the qualifying campaign for France 2016.

Up next for England is a game in Turin against Italy on Tuesday as they look to avenge their World Cup defeat against Atonio Conte’s men.
