Chelsea’s manager Maurizio Sarri is ready for tonight’s Europa League final vs Arsenal at Baku.

The Italian coach, during his pre-game press conference gave an update on the injuries’ situation for the Blues: “We are in trouble with the midfielders. We have only three midfielders for three positions. We are in trouble. N’Golo is very important. He is the only defensive midfielder that we have. We will try to recover him. N’Golo for us, it is a problem”. Sarri explained. “He had a little problem in his knee on Saturday. We are trying. It is not serious but it is the problem of three or four days. We will try, but right now we don’t know. 50/50, yesterday 60/40 for no, but now 50/50. He was a little better this morning”.

Today Sarri can win the first trophy in professional football, but he still doesn’t consider this the most important night in his career: “I don’t know. Because the feeling between coach and media is different. For media this is the most important of my life, for me maybe not”. the Italian claimed. “Maybe for me more important was a match in Serie B in Italy. I don’t know. Tomorrow I might be able to tell you my feelings. Not at the moment.”

Finally, Sarri gave also a message to all Chelsea fans especially those who couldn’t travel to Baku: “I don’t know what to say about the problems. You have to ask UEFA and the clubs. I am very disappointed. We do this job for this kind of match. We want our fans here. We will try to win for us and also for them”.

Chelsea are training for the Europa League final vs Arsenal as they hope to finish their season winning a trophy.

It hasn’t been an easy season for the Blues and, according to Marcos Alonso part of the reason is manager Maurizio Sarri never playing professional football:  “It’s never easy to come to a new country and new league, new football, new culture. The gaffer is still learning.” Marcos Alonso said. “He was not a football player either, so he is learning a lot this year. Taking orders from someone like that can be different, but at the end of the day we have to be professional and take on whatever he asks us for. He is different”.

So not only Chelsea’s season, but also Marcos Alonso’s one has been full of ups and downs: “I started the season very, and the team also started very well,” the defender added. “Then the manager asked me for something different. I tried to do what he was asking me to do and when the team started winning games again I had a small injury in my back. I had to stop for a couple of games but after that I was back playing good and getting back in the team when they needed me. Now there is a big opportunity to end the season well and go on holiday. It’s not easy of course to adapt. We are eleven players, all have to try to go in the same direction. Managers are different, they have different aspects of tactics. He wanted to change the team not just me. He wanted to change the way we start playing.”

Antonio Rudiger has suffered a serious injury on his left knee meniscus and has underwent surgery in Rome earlier this morning. A further major blow for Chelsea after also Callum Hudson-Odoi underwent surgery on his ruptured achilles tendon last week.

However, as the club’s official website confirmed, “the German star will miss the rest of this campaign and will rehab over the summer to be back early next season”.

Rudiger wrote on his Instagram page: “What a pity I won’t be able to help my team during the last games of the season. But my knee surgery went well and I’m already positive again. Thanks for all your messages and comments. And special thanks to the efforts of Professor Mariani and his team!”

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has provided an injury update on two players: Cesc Fabregas and Olivier Giroud.

The Spaniard suffered a neck problem ‘in the last five minutes of training’ earlier this morning, while the French striker was replaced by Alvaro Morata in the second half of the Blues’ away win against Crystal Palace.

Speaking at a press conference, Sarri told journalists “Fabregas is a neck problem”.

He added: “The injury was in the last five minutes of training, so I’m not sure about whether he has to rest for two or for ten days. I don’t know about the moment.

About Giroud, he said: “The problem is his ankle. I don’t know the severity. We have to wait for tomorrow. I think that, later in the evening, I will see the doctor for the first results, but I think the real result will only be known tomorrow.”

“We are in trouble because, in January, we have to play every three days.”

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has confirmed his side “have two problems” as both Pedro and Callum Hudson-Odoi are still a doubt ahead of Sunday’s clash against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

The Italian boss, on the other hand, says his decision to not play Alvaro Morata in Blues’ last game at Vicarage Road was “a tactical choice”.

“We have two problems, the first is more serious with Pedro” said Sarri.

“He has an injury in his hamstring and I think that he will have to rest for about 10 days. The second problem is Odoi, it’s not very serious but I don’t know if he will be able to play in the next match”.

On Morata: “Alvaro now is going very well, he is fit to play. It was only a tactical choice [to not play him against Watford]”.

T”he first impression of the doctor is that it isn’t too bad” he said.

“But we have to check tomorrow” Sarri added.

AC Milan wanted to cancel Tiemoué Bakayoko‘s loan next January due to his poor performances in this start of the season but recently the Italian club changed his mind.

The 24-year-old improved in his playing but, furthermore, the Rossoneri suffered a lot long-term injuries in the past weeks and cannot reduce their squad anymore.

Giacomo Bonaventura underwent a knee-surgery yesterday and will come back next season, Argentine international Lucas Biglia will be out for 4 months and Calahnoglu is a doubt for the next games for an old foot issue.

All the starting defenders are out as well ( Caldara for 3 months, Musacchio for 2, Romagnoli for 1 and Calabria is a doubt for the next games).

Because of this difficult situation and Bakayoko’s improvements in Serie A the Italian side decided to keep him for the rest of the season.
