In the last few weeks Chelsea‘s manager Maurizio Sarri has been “under siege” with many fans demanding his sacking by the London club.

However, midfielder Mateo Kovacic spoke out and praised the Blues’ manager: “When players are used to playing other football and then to come here and change everything, it’s difficult”. Kovacic told Chelsea TV. “But he has his football in his mind and that’s a great personality. He just wants to play his football and that’s what we’re trying to do and trying to win a trophy. Because in the end the most important thing is to win trophies but the players know it. The players are used to winning trophies and I’m sure we will have a great year this season.”

FIFA has confirmed today it has received Chelsea’s appeal against their transfer ban.

FIFA itself says “there is no exact timetable” for Chelsea’s case, and the appeal panel chairman must decide on freezing the punishment.

The ban has been imposed on the London club for the next two transfer windows for breaches of regulations relating to the transfer of 29 players aged under 18.

Both in the summer and in the January transfer window, Spanish giant Barcelona have shown their interest for Chelsea‘s star Willian.

However, the Brazilian claimed he wants to stay in London with the Blues:

My future is here, I have one-and-a-half years on my contract left, and I want to stay until it is finished,” Willian told The Daily Mirror.

Not only this, as Willian hopes also the club will offer him a contract extension: “I don’t know if the club want me to sign a new contract, but my focus is here. I would like a new contract. If they want it, I want it”. the Blues star revealed. “I have been here for five-and-a-half years, won a lot of titles. I am very happy. To play for Chelsea, you have to put your mind to winning titles every year.”

It’s still unclear if Brazilian defender David Luiz will sign a new contract with Chelsea or not, but Luiz himself has made clear which is his first choice for his career:

We are still talking, let’s see. Let’s see what the future brings,” the Blues player told Eurosport. “I love this club, everybody knows I want to stay”.

Real Madrid loanee Mateo Kovacic is enjoying is time with Chelsea and, speaking to Spanish newspaper Marca while on international duty with Croatia he explains the reasons of his move to the London club during the last summer transfer window.

I wanted to be happy and at Chelsea I am,” Kovacic said. “I just wanted to be happy and play matches, feel a responsibility within the team and I’ve found that at Chelsea.  This is not the time to talk about anything other than playing and enjoying. I don’t want to think about what will happen and do want to be happy doing what I like, which is to play football every week”.

Speaking to ESPN BrazilChelsea midfielder Jorginho revealed once again why during last summer transfer window he chose the Blues rather than Manchester City.

Maurizio Sarri‘s appointment on the Blues’ bench played, obviously a crucial role as the Italian manager trained Jorginho also at SS Napoli.

There are a lot of things behind a negotiation process”. Jorginho said. “I believe Sarri’s arrival played a big part on it. And there’s also the greatness of Chelsea, such a big club. So these factors helped me making my mind”.

The Italian midfielder also admitted his relationship with Sarri is very good:  “Yes, it’s pretty good. He’s always bantering, joking with me”. Jorginho added.

The Blues’ winning streak comes to an end following a goalless draw in the London derby between West Ham United and Chelsea at Olympic Stadium. Chelsea saw plenty of the ball possession in the first half, when keeper Kepa was crucial as he saved a powerful effort delivered from Antonio. Hazard, Rudiger and Giroud had three chances, with Fabianski ready to collect with no concern.

Alvaro Morata and the Belgian star went close to opening the score in the second period, before West Ham winger Yarmolenko missed a certain goal as his header from a seven-yards out went wide. Also Hammers’ goalkeeper Fabianski produced more than a great save to deny Chelsea’s advantage. The Poland international spreads himself when Ross Barkley – who came off the bench in the second half to replace Mateo Kovacic – whipped the ball into the bottom corner.

Chelsea fail to get a win for the first time in their first six Premier League games of the 2018/19 campaign. Liverpool are now top of the table with 18 points, just 2 ahead of the Blues and Man City.

Chelsea are keeping tabs on Shakhtar Donetsk star Bernard after falling to land Aleksandr Golovin to Stamford Bridge.

The Brazilian star has been also linked with a move to Ligue 1 side Monaco and Serie A giants AC Milan.

The 25-year-old joined the Ukrainian side from Atletico Mineiro in 2013 and scored 14 goals from 96 games.

Bernard joined Shakhtar Donetsk to replace Willian when the current Chelsea winger joined Anzhi on a £30m move in January 2013.

Fulham has today completed the signing of Jean-Michael Seri on a four-year deal from OGC Nice.

The Premier League side have beaten Chelsea, who are closing in on a £57m move for Napoli midfielder Jorginho.

Seri told Fulham’s official website: “It was a long day yesterday so it was great to get the move finalised.

“Now, I’m ready to get started and looking forward to meeting the squad and getting to know them, the Head Coach and his staff better. I’m delighted to be here, it’s a new adventure that starts for me and I’m hoping it will all go well.”

The deal is subject to international clearance, and the player obtaining a work permit.

OGC Nice manager Patrick Vieira gave Jean-Michael Seri permission to leave the pre-season training camp as the 26-year-old looks set to join Chelsea on a permanent move.


France Football journalist Nabil Djellit has confirmed Seri is close to leave the Ligue 1 side with also Arsenal interested in the Ivory Coast international.


However, the Gunners are expected to confirm the signing of midfielder Lucas Torreira (medical at the club scheduled for TODAY) from UC Sampdoria in the next hours.

Despite an uninterrupted uncertainty surrounding the club’s head coaching situation, Chelsea look set to close in on a move for Jean-Michel Seri, whose £35m buy-out clause with OGC Nice reportedly expires on July 15th.

Chelsea reman keen also on CSKA Moscow ace Aleksandr Golobvin and Napoli midfielder Jorginho as the Brazilian born midfielder could be included as a part of the deal to bring Sarri to Stamford Bridge.
