Willian yesterday night helped Chelsea a lot to beat Hull City and to reach the Fa Cup quarter-finals.

Not only the Brazilian scored twice, but also he psyched Meyler out before the Tigers’ player kicked his penalty.

I said to him: ‘you’re going to miss’,” Willian told RTE, “I said: ‘don’t shoot in the middle because Willy won’t move, he stays,’ and then when he missed I said ‘I told you’.”

Chelsea are really concerned for N’Golo Kantè fitness after the French midfielder picked up a hamstring injury while away on international duty with France.

Kante was forced off in the 34th minute of France’s victory over Bulgaria on Saturday night and has now been assessed by Blues’ medical department.

With early predictions putting his absence at two to three weeks, Kante will surely miss next Saturday’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.

The Blues are yet to confirm his exact injury or put an official timescale on how long he will miss.

However, Kante’s injury is thought to be worse than that of team-mate Alvaro Morata, who limped off during Manchester City game a couple of weeks ago but is working to try to come back in the Champions League clash against AS Roma next week.

The fear of Chelsea is that Kante, a key-man for Conte’s team, could miss all the six matches scheduled for October and could come back only in November, on time for Manchester United on the 5th or after another international break due for mid-month.

Eden Hazard is also not fit to play after suffering a fractured ankle while on duty with Belgium, and he will probably miss the start of the Premier League season: Conte is unsure to bring him to Asia, as it would be better for him to stay in London for a quicker recovery.

Diego Costa in out of the squad, waiting for his move to Atletico Madrid, while Nemanja Matic is not sure to be in the group that will travel to China because he has got chances to leave the club soon.

Mario Pasalic, Lewis Baker, Jeremie Boga and Andreas Christensen are among the youngsters that will jet out to Asia,  after a week back in training with their parent club this week at Cobham Training Centre.

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney could miss Chelsea clash next Sunday due to his recent ankle injury.

The English striker has been struggling to recover since he picked up this issue one month ago, right before FA Cup quarter finals game with the Blues at Stamford Bridge.

Rooney didn’t travel to Bruxelles, where United are facing Anderlecht in Europa League quarter finals tomorrow night, and Red Devils manager José Mourinho revealed he’s a serious doubt for Easter afternoon’s match at Old Trafford:

“He’s not happy with his condition, he’s trying to work with the team, which he does, but he’s not confident, not happy,” Mourinho said on Wednesday.

“He has a bad feeling with his ankle and is not ready to play. Let’s see for the weekend or the next game. We don’t have many players fit but for tomorrow? No.”

Steven Gerrard revealed what is the main difference between Chelsea and Manchester City and what Pep Guardiola‘s side are missing to be a real top team:

“You need a world class goalkeeper, Chelsea have one and Manchester City don’t,” Gerrard said on BT Sport.

“Any goalkeeper that this level will be unhappy parrying that back to Hazard from the penalty.

“He’s [Guardiola] obviously got no faith in Joe, he doesn’t rate Joe. He’s got more faith in Bravo and Caballero and he didn’t even give Joe a chance.

“I don’t rate those two. He’s probably performed better than the two City keepers at the moment.”

Antonio Conte is worried after a couple of his stars suffered minor injuries while on international duty: both Diego Costa and Thibaut Courtois picked up knocks with their national teams during the weekend.

The Belgian goalkeeper will miss Belgium’s match with Russia tomorrow in a friendly after picking up a hip injury, however is hoping to be back in time for Saturday’s league match.

Costa suffered an ankle injury during the training with Spain yesterday, a thing that was confirmed by Spanish football association:

“Diego Costa was forced to leave the training session after being injured on his foot and ankle, due to which he was submitted to a series of tests (X-ray and TAC) at Sanitas Clinic in La Moraleja, where finally he was given the ok.

“The footballer is still under observation and will remain with the team during training camp,Chelsea FC medical services were informed of the players’ condition.”

Speaking to Radio Onda Cero Spanish national team coach Julen Lopetegui added:

“In principle he will come with us to Paris. As it was only a knock, but not an injury, we will see how evolves. Sometimes when it’s only a knock the evolution it’s surprisingly positive. It looked big but fortunately it has been only a scare”.

Jose Mourinho will have an headache in his London hotel room tonight trying to figure out how to face Chelsea in crucial FA Cup quarter finals with no strikers available.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is serving a three-game-ban after the episodes occured with Bournemouth’s Tyrone Mings in the past weekend but pictures of Manchester United travelling squad while boarding the train to London this afternoon showed all the three other strikers were missing: Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford all stayed in Manchester to recover from injury.

The Red Devils captain got injured in the last training session in a collision with Phil Jones, Rashford was taken ill and Martial is injured as well.

Mourinho could move a winger or another midfielder to the centre of United attacks, like Young, Fellaini, Mata, Lingard or Mkhitaryan but to face such an important game without all the four main strikers is surely a major blow for Mourinho’s side who are looking for “revenge” after last October 4-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge.
