After a goalless first-half, an Olivier Giroud‘s header broke the lock in the first minutes of the second-half.

Pedro and a penalty by Eden Hazard put the Blues 3 up, before Iwobi scored for Arsenal. In the end, Hazard scored the second goal of the night with Chelsea winning the match 4-1.

FA CUP - THIRD ROUND: Chelsea 4 - 1 Peterborough United

Chelsea 2 – 0 Peterborough United

  • Pedro (18′minutes)
  • Batshuayi (43′minutes)

In today’s FA Cup Third Round at home Chelsea lead 2-0 with a Pedro goal after 18 minutes followed by a second by Batshuayi.

Pedro almost scored a second goal but clipped the top corner of the cross bar after a lovely attacking move which saw him have an easy clear chance.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has emphasised the chance for Michy Batshuayi to make an impressive impact. And after 44 minutes Batshuayi “staked his claim” in the team as the manager wanted by scoring Chelsea’s second goal. It was a late goal approaching the half-time mark just as Peterborough were trying to get back in the game after a missed chance by the Blues.

Chelsea winger Pedro broke the deadlock in the Blues’ 3-0 win over Bournemouth yesterday with a left-footed shot in the first half.

The Spaniard told the club’s official website: “I’m very happy to have scored and help the team but the most important thing was the win”,

“It’s unbelievable because it’s very difficult to do that in the Premier League but the team are very compact on the pitch and that’s the right way”.

“It was very good, all the team played very well with great intensity and a good mentality. It was a very important win on Boxing Day for the supporters and we are very happy”.

Despite both Diego Costa and N’Golo Kante were absent in Boxing Day clash against the Cherries, Chelsea earned three points again: “It was a good performance, all the players are high on confidence and that’s very good for the team”.

“The attackers played very well and that’s the most important thing, the team were fighting for each other on the pitch and that’s the right way.”

Stoke City are now set to face Chelsea, but Pedro is not scared as the whole team needs to stay focused and think game by game.

“It’s difficult because the season is very long, – he added – There are a lot of games still to play but at the moment it’s very good for us to be top of the league,”

“Bournemouth are a good team and it was very difficult. Stoke are also a very good team but we must take it game by game”.

CHELSEA box three goals past Bournemouth

Chelsea box three goals past Bournemouth

PEDRO and HAZARD wrapped up a Boxing Day victory for Chelsea’s 12th consecutive premier League win of the season. With no DIEGO COSTA upfront, the Blues displayed a terrific 3-4-3 formation attack of football to make sure they rotated well among the front three players and netted three goals in front of their home fans.

The Chelsea Spaniard, PEDRO ELIZER RODRIGUEZ LEDESMA (PEDRO) in the 24th minute scored a deflected shot that went to the top corner and in the 90th minute of injury time, scored again. This made the Bournemouth defender, Steve Cook to be among the on-looking opponents who could only look on as the Blues gave the Cherries a box of triple fruitful goals. EDEN HAZARD in the 49th minute added a penalty which more a less rounded off the first half with Bournemouth not able to keep up with the high-flying pace of Chelsea.

Later in the game, Bournemouth looked to their substitute’s bench and threw in the likes of their usual midfield goal-hitting man Junior Stanislas. The second half however was still all for CHELSEA to score more. The formation without the suspended DIEGO COSTA and N’GOLO KANTE saw the Cherries having 56% of the possession compared to the Blues’ 44%.  However, CESC FABREGAS, VICTOR MOSES and WILLIAN had already done the damage which despite pressure from JACK WILSHERE in midfield sees Chelsea yet again earning another three points and setting a club record of 12 straight wins in the Premier League .

It was no secret that Chelsea winger Pedro was left frustrated at the lack of game time he received for Spain at Euro 2016.

In fact, he was criticised for the complaints he made but insists that he wants to work hard to stay a part of the set-up and also feels motivated to help Chelsea regain their Premier League reputation when he returns to Stamford Bridge ahead of the new campaign.

“I had a very good relationship [with Vicente del Bosque], despite everything that’s been said.

“We had good times together, besides becoming world and European champions. It’s good for everyone [that he is staying on in a different role].

“[On why he wants to remain part of the Spain set-up], it is most important [to me] and gives a player a lot of prestige.

“[On Del Bosque’s rift with Iker Casillas], sometimes [what’s reported] is more than what’s said because we’ve always had a good relationship with one another in the dressing room. It’s a shame that Del Bosque is leaving.

“I’m very motivated [about returning to] Chelsea to and taking the team back to where they should be.

“[My first season] was one of adaptation and difficulty, but I want to have a great [second] season.”

Chelsea winger Pedro Rodriguez has been handed the no. 11 shirt ahead of the 2016/2017 season.

After the release of on-loan forward Alexandre Pato, who had the shirt during his time at Stamford Bridge, Pedro has been given the shirt and he will be hoping for a change in fortune after a disappointing season last year wearing the no. 17.

Chelsea winger Pedro Rodriguez has admitted that he wants to return to Barcelona, after just one season at Stamford Bridge.

The 28-year-old, who is currently on international duty with Spain at the European Championship’s, joined Chelsea from Barcelona for £22m, but failed to make much of an impact last season.

Pedro told BeIN Sport that he hopes to return to Barca, but admits will be tough.

“Hopefully [I can return to Barcelona] but I know it’s hard.

“I have already spoken about it with the president [Josep Maria Bartomeu] when we [Barcelona] were in the [Cup] final [when Barcelona beat Sevilla 2-0 last month] and spoke to all the people who want me there.

“It’s complicated, but I’ve always said that I would like to retire at Barcelona. However, I know it’s difficult because the years go by and the club has the best players in the world, it is a very demanding club and to return is complicated. But I do not rule it out either.”
