Arsenal earned a 3-1 win at home against Valencia despite a slow start to the first-leg of Europa League‘s semi-final. The Spanish side got the upper hand earlier in the first half, before Alexandre Lacazette netted twice to complete the comeback in a vivid first half.

A goal from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the extra-time means Gunners have a good opportunity to win the clash on aggregate. And also chances to see an all-English Europa League final are still alive.

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri had his say also on Arsenal 3-1 win at Emirates Stadium: “I want the final against any team, Arsenal or Valencia. For me it’s exactly the same. I want the final and this time I don’t want to play the final, I want to win.

Former Valencia manager Gary Neville says Chelsea rivals in the title race will have to ‘produce the greatest run in Premier League history’ if they want to catch Antonio Conte‘s side this season.

Neville told Sky Sports MNF: “I don’t think it’s so much about whether Chelsea will drop points – they will”.

“It’s whether the others are capable of putting together, potentially, the greatest run in Premier League history to win 14, 13 games on the bounce on the way in”.

“You’re still relying on Chelsea losing three or four matches and winning 13 or 14 games. I’m not sure we’ve got the trust in the other teams yet to think they can do that”.

Manchester City have now 52 points following their last victory against Bournemouth, while Chelsea are leading the table with 60 points so far.

“The fact that Europe’s starting again for many of the teams will make it even more difficult – Neville added – I think Chelsea are strong favourites, it could happen, but Chelsea would have to get injuries to key players – that’s the one thing that would cause a big problem to Chelsea,”

Another Chelsea target for the defence that is set to join another side, this time a huge Blues rival: after the goalless draw against Leicester City last night, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger revealed that the Gunners are close to sign a new player:

“Yes we are close [to another signing],” Wenger told BT Sport.

“But I would say spending in itself is not a quality. Spending and buying the right players is a quality.

“I am a bit fed up to always respond to the same things. We look and analyse absolutely everything and we have to make the right decisions.”

The player should be Valencia centre-back and German international Shkodran Mustafi, for whom the Northern London side offered € 30m.
