Former Chelsea boss José Mourinho slams Belgium players for letting his ex star Eden Hazard in the World Cup in Russia:

“I think the Belgium players go home with a bad feeling, a feeling that ‘we could do more and better’ a feeling that probably Hazard out of it because he tried absolutely everything, but many other players kept hiding,” Mourinho told RT.

“They are much better than that, for big occasions, big players were not there in the big occasion.

“The majority of the players were not themselves, in big matches you have to be yourself or a bit better. The big match can make you a bit better, that extra adrenaline, that extra feeling of ‘how big I am’ can only make you better.

“If the big occasion makes you worse than you are then you regret and I think the majority of the Belgium players are having this feeling.”

Crystal Palace hope to sign Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan again next season.

Palace believe the Blues could allow the England international, who made his first World Cup start for the Three Lions in Sunday’s 6-1 win against Panama, to go out on loan for another year.

Loftus-Cheek played a key role in helping the Eagles avoid relegation last season and has made it clear he wants regular football next term.

Palace want the 22-year-old back but are likely to face competition after his impressive performances for England, with Everton and Newcastle interested.
But Loftus-Cheek enjoyed his time at Palace and they hope that will put them at the front of the queue to sign him.
However the midfielder, who grew-up as a footballer in Chelsea academy and made his first team debut under José Mourinho three years ago, said he will decide his future once his experience in the World Cup is over.

Chelsea FC are expected to make official new manager Maurizio Sarri‘s appointment today, or no later than tomorrow.

The new Stamford Bridge boss is close to sign for the Stamford Bridge club and he’s expected in London today.

According to the Daily Mail, Sarri, is likely to sign a two-year contract that will include the option of a third year and is said to be planning to sleep at the club’s Cobham training ground at first upon his arrival, where there is a house inside the complex.

Chelsea are believed to be paying around £4.5million to release the Italian coach from Napoli after a contractual dispute caused a delay and slowed down their transfer activity.

Sarri would like to bring Senegal international Kalidou Koulibaly and Italy international Jorginho, both crucial players in his Napoli side, and in the last days also the name of Belgian striker Dries Mertens – also in Napoli squad and great friend with Blues star Eden Hazard- became hot in the list of the possible transfers from Napoli toward Stamford Bridge.

However,  Chelsea’s lack of Champions League football could cost them in contract talks with new signings bound to want large bonuses for getting them back into Europe’s elite competition.

Most players who are not at the World Cup are believed to be due back for pre-season on July 9 but have been waiting to find out who will be in charge.

SOCHI, RUSSIA - JUNE 18: Romelu Lukaku of Belgium celebrates after scoring his team's second goal with team mates Dries Mertens and Eden Hazard during the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia group G match between Belgium and Panama at Fisht Stadium on June 18, 2018 in Sochi, Russia

Chelsea star Eden Hazard has claimed that he stands by the comments made about Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku in the half-time of Belgium’s win over Panama at the World Cup, but he has downplayed the significance of his words.

The Blues player felt the need to speak to his teammate at half time of Group G match on Monday as the Red Devils were struggling to break down their opponents.

Hazard suggested that Lukaku had been “hiding up front” in the opening 45 minutes, before responding with two goals in the second half in what turned out to be comfortable 3-0 victory over the Central American team.

Asked to explain his comment, Hazard told Sky Sports News:

“As the captain, even if I am not the captain I can talk, on the pitch I try to give my best, if I can help players to be better I will.

“I just told Romelu if we want to win the game we need him, not just as a scorer to score goals, but we want him to be involved in the build-up. We just talked normally and we won the game in the end so it was fine.”

Hazard and Lukaku are expected to start Belgium’s second group outing against Tunisia on Saturday afternoon.

Williando Brasil disputa a bola com o jogador dos Estados Unidos durante partida amistosa no Gillette Stadium, em Foxborough, Massachusetts, Estados Unidos, Terça-feira, Setembro, 8, 2015.

Brazil drew 1-1 in their World Cup debut against Switzerland in Russia.

Chelsea winger Willian started and played the whole game but he didn’t really make an impact on the game.

Goals were scored by ex Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho, with an amazing shot in the middle of the first half, and by Steven Zuber, who equalised with a header on a corner in the beginning of the second part.

So now Brazil and Switzerland are leveled with 1 point in Group F, where Sweden and South Korea will debut tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m.

Eden Hazard is waiting for Chelsea to choose their next manager before deciding on his future:

“At the moment I only focus on the World Cup,” he claimed speaking to Sky Sports before heading to Russia with Belgium.

“We had a bad season with Chelsea. We won the FA Cup at the end, so it was a little bit better but I’m only focused on the World Cup.

“Then I let the board manage Chelsea the best way that they can,” he revealed.

Chelsea have made an offer of €60m for Roma goalkeeper Alisson, reports from Italy claim.

The Brazil international, who is expected to be his country’s number one at this summer’s World Cup, has seen his stock rise dramatically after an impressive season with Eusebio Di Francesco side.

He has been heavily linked with Real Madrid and Liverpool in recent times, with both of the Champions League finalists thought to be in the market for new goalkeepers.

However, according to Pagine Romaniste, it is the Reds’ English Premier League rivals Chelsea who have made the first official offer for the 25-year-old.

It is thought that the Blues have made a €60m ( £ 50m) bid for the player, while they would offer Alisson wages of €4.5m a season.

According to the report, though, it is highly unlikely that sporting director Monchi will accept the offer.

Instead, Roma will wait until after the World Cup before considering doing business – by which time Alisson’s performances at the tournament will hopefully have increased his value still further.

MILAN, ITALY - OCTOBER 15: Mauro Emanuel Icardi of FC Internazionale Milano celebrates his third goal during the Serie A match between FC Internazionale and AC Milan at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on October 15, 2017 in Milan, Italy.

Chelsea are looking to improve their squad this summer after a disappointing season saw them finish fifth in the Premier League, failing to qualify for the next Champions League.

And one area the Blues will be particularly keen to strengthen is their attack with £ 80m new striker Alvaro Morata that partially fulfilled the expectations after a patchy season.

Spanish outlet Don Balon, known for their bold transfer claims, say the Blues have made an offer of £96m (€100m) for Serie A top-scorer Mauro Icardi.

It is believed the 25-year-old has got a £ 102m release clause, valid only for clubs outside the Serie A, that can be exert before July 15th.

Real Madrid have been linked with a move for the Inter striker after his stunning forms his season.

The Argentine, who was not selected for the World Cup in Russia due to his bad relationship with Leo Messi, netted 29 goals in just 34 Serie A matches to help Inter finish fourth and secure Champions League qualification.

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata was pictured in Milan with his agent Juanma Lopez today.

The Blues forward, coming from a patchy first season at Stamford Brigde, was in Italy to meet Juventus sport director Fabio Paratici, with whom he had lunch on Wednesday.

Morata, whose pregnant wife is Italian, would love to return to Serie A, as he probably lived the best two campaigns of his career while at Juventus between 2014 and 2016.

The Spanish striker, who was let down by his exclusion from the Spain squad who will travel to Russia for World Cup 2018, moved to London from Real Madrid in a £ 70m deal last summer and Juventus would be keen to sign him back for a similar fee.

The talks have just started.
